MYLAR SCRIBBLED SUNSET

London-based art-pop three-piece Mylar have returned with a fantastic new track, 'Scribbled Sunset’. It’s a tight track centred on intimate synth-funk grooves, with jagged rhythms and a punchy drum pattern creating a machine-like rhythm section. Tom Short’s lead vocals are almost Housemartins-esque in delivery, thanks to a casual yet memorable approach. “It’s quite upfront and direct and it looks at that moment in a relationship where you’re questioning whether someone is that interested anymore,”the band explain. “And that image of a ‘scribbled sunset’ is talking about the need many of us have to paint over things even when they’re clearly not working.” The band have also announced details of their new EP, Lost In The Shuffle , which drops on April 16th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
